FAQ
Is Cafe Cabra Verde organic coffee, Rainforest Alliance or fair trade?
At our coffee farm, we strive to utilize natural methods for cultivating our coffee plants. However, there are instances, such as the threat of leaf rust fungus, where we must rely on nonorganic solutions to protect our harvest. By using a commercial fungicide, we can safeguard our coffee trees and ensure a consistent yield, allowing to continue delivering quality coffee to our customers and remain committed to balancing sustainability with the realities of farming. Although we adhere to the standards set by the Rainforest Alliance, our operation is too small to warrant the advantages of certification. Regarding fair trade, we ensure that our full-time employees receive a livable wage, while also surpassing the requirements for time off, bonuses, healthcare access, and microloans. Since we sell Cafe Cabra Verde directly, there is no intermediary involved, allowing our coffee to be marketed directly from our farm to your cup!
Is your coffee arabica?
The four primary types of coffee are Arabica, Robusta, Excelsa, and Liberica, each possessing distinctly different flavor profiles. Arabica coffee beans are the most widely consumed type of coffee globally, celebrated for their exceptional flavor and aromatic richness when compared to other varieties such as Robusta.
While Arabica accounts for approximately 70% of the world's coffee production, its widespread appeal is attributed to its smoother, sweeter flavor, featuring fruity, floral, and nutty undertones, complemented by a bright acidity. In contrast, Robusta is characterized by a stronger, more bitter flavor and a higher caffeine content. All coffee produced in El Salvador, including Cafe Cabra Verde, is of the Arabica variety.
Do you ship your coffee? Where can I buy Cafe Cabra Verde?
As a small coffee producer located in Ahuachapan, El Salvador, we have not yet identified a cost-effective method for shipping our coffee beyond the borders of El Salvador. All of our coffee is sold directly by us. Consequently, you must either visit El Salvador or inform us of your interest in purchasing coffee, and we will include you on our notification list for when we are able to transport coffee to the United States for sale. Please note that space is restricted by airline regulations, and our supply tends to sell out quickly.
